Good Advice From My Friend Michael

May 4th, 2006 by kaleness

Well I guess it would be nice

If I could touch your body

I know not everybody

Has got a body like you

But I’ve got to think twice

Before I give my heart away

And I know all the games you play

Because I play them too

Oh but I

Need some time off from that emotion

Time to pick my heart up off the floor

And when that love comes down

Without devotion

Well it takes a strong man baby

But I’m showing you the door

‘Cause I gotta have faith…

Baby

I know you’re asking me to stay

Say please, please, please, don’t go away

You say I’m giving you the blues

Maybe

You mean every word you say

Can’t help but think of yesterday

And another who tied me down to loverboy rules

Before this river

Becomes an ocean

Before you throw my heart back on the floor

Oh baby I reconsider

My foolish notion

Well I need someone to hold me

But I’ll wait for something more

Yes I’ve gotta have faith…

Arizona Ryan

Just seems like the other day that I met you, Chad, and Rosey–all in the same night, right?!  Remember the wild times at Shaun’s place on Wilshire?  Who’s little dog was that??  haha.  And then literally bumping into you in the middle of Manhattan…actually, that was just kind of creepy!  My favorite, though:  remember when Jack, myself, Alex, Paul all came to visit in Phoenix.  You took us out for a night (weekend?) on the town…and that random girl looked at Jack’s brand new G55 and told him she "really thought his Hummer was cool!"  …that was some funny shit.

Went through our pics from Arizona, but we just weren’t very photogenic that weekend :-)  Found this on Chad’s page–this is how I remember you.  Such a beautiful smile and a witty personality.  I’ll miss you, babe.  Be good, Ryan.

Pat Robertson is Deluded (capital D)

[repost for Bob Sieger and David Beckner]

Seriously, this man scares me…mostly cause’ he is perhaps the most misguided man on the planet, but also because he actually believes the crap flying out of his mouth.  On a side note, congratulations to Dover, PA, for coming to their senses–and down with anyone who is still a member of The 700 Club.

Televangelist warns of evolution doomsday

Pat Robertson says a vote against intelligent design is a vote against God

Updated: 6:16 p.m. ET Nov. 10, 2005

WASHINGTON - Conservative Christian televangelist Pat Robertson told citizens of a Pennsylvania town that they had rejected God by voting their school board out of office for supporting “intelligent design” and warned them Thursday not to be surprised if disaster struck.

“I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to God, you just rejected him from your city,” Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, “The 700 Club.”

“And don’t wonder why he hasn’t helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I’m not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that’s the case, don’t ask for his help because he might not be there,” he said.

Stand Back

Stand Back

(- written by Stevie Nicks, appears on The Wild Heart (1983); Timespace; The Best of Stevie Nicks (1991); Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (1992) (live); The Enchanted Boxed Set (1998))

No one looked…as I walked by
Just an invitation would have been just fine
Said no to him…again and again
First he took my heart…then he ran

No one knows how I feel
What I say unless you read between my lines
One man walked away from me
First he took my hand…take me home

Stand back…stand back
In the middle of my room
I did not hear from you
It’s alright…it’s alright
To be standing in a line
(Standing in a line)
I would cry…

Do not turn away my friend
Like a willow I can bend
No man calls my name
No man came

So I walked on down away from you
Maybe your attention was more
Than you could do
One man did not call
He asked me for my love
And that was all

Stand back…stand back
In the middle of my room
I did not hear from you
It’s alright…it’s alright
To be standing in a line
(Standing in a line)
(Standing in a line)

So I walked on down the line
Away from you
Maybe your attention was more
Than I could do
One man…did not call
Well he asked me for my love
That was all

Bill Bennet is an Moron

Yeah, this man served as Reagan’s chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities from 1981-1985 and secretary of education from 1985-1988. From 1989-1990, he served as "drug czar" in the administration of the elder Bush.  He is a commentator on Fox News (that’s a real shocker).  Of course, brought to you by the Religious Body Politic:

CNN:  Friday, September 30, 2005; Posted: 1:08 p.m. EDT (17:08 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Congressional Democrats blasted former Education Secretary William Bennett on Thursday for saying that aborting "every black baby in this country" would reduce the crime rate, and demanded their Republican counterparts do the same.
